1. 오래 참는다.

patient ; 참을성(인내력,인내심) 있는

suffers long ; 오래동안 (질병,고통,슬픔,결핍 등에) 시달린다

                   고통받는다, (부상,패배,상실 등을) 겪는다

endures long and is patient ; 오래동안 견딘다(참는다,인내한다)

never gives up ; 결코 포기하지 않는다

2. 온유하다. 친절하다

kind ; 친절하다, 다정하다

cares more for others than for self ; 자신보다 이웃을 더 돌본다.

3. 시기하지 않는다. 투기하는 자가 되지 않는다

does not envy ; 부러워하지(선망하지) 않는다.

never is envious nor boils over with jealousy

                     ; 질투심으로 끓지 않는다.

is not/never jealous ; 결코 질투하거나 시기하지 않는다. 

doesn't want what it doesn't have

                     ; 자신이 갖고 있지 않는 것을 원하지 않는다.

질문.. 하나님은 질투라 이름하시는 하나님이신데(출애굽기 34:14 너는 다른 신에게 절하지 말라 여호와는 질투라 이름하는 질투의 하나님임이니라)

그렇다면 질투할 수 있는 권한은 하나님께만 있는 것인가요??

여기서의 질투는 다른 의미인가요??

4. 자랑하지 않는다. 뽐내지 않는다.

does not boast, never boastful ; 뽐내지(자랑하지) 않는다

vaunteth not itself

   ; 자랑떨지(허풍떨지, 장점을 치켜세우지, 호언장담하지) 않는다.

not boastful or vainglorious ; 자만심이 강하지 않다.

does not sing its own praises ; 스스로를 칭찬하지 않는다.

does not brag ; (심하게) 자랑하지 않는다.

does not parade itself

  ; (과시하듯이, 공개하여) 보여주거나 전시하지 않는다.

  ; (~인 척, ~인 것처럼 보이게)하지 않는다.

doesn't strut ; 뽐내며 걷지 않는다.

5. 교만하지 않다

not/never proud ; (자랑스러워하지, 오만하지, 거만하지, 자부심이 강하지, 위풍당당하지) 않다.

not puffed up ; 부풀어 오르지 않는다. 우쭐하지 않는다.

does not display itself haughtily ; 거만하지, 오만하지 않는다. 

not/isn't arrogant ; 오만하지 않다.

is not conceited ; 자만하지 않다.

doesn't have a selled head

6. 무례히 행하지 않는다. 무례하지 않다.

not/never rude

does not behave itself unseemly

  ; (꼴사납게,부적절하게)행하지 않는다.

is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride)

does not act unbecomingly ; 어울리지 않게 행동하지 않는다.

does not act improperly, doesn't behave itself inappropriately

  ; 부적절하게 행동하지 않는다.

  ; 충고하며,판단하며,해석하며 행동하지 않는다.

does not dishonor others

  ; 명예를 손상,더럽히거나 창피를 주지 않는다.

    약속을 어기지 않는다.

doesn't force itself on others

  ; 강요하지, 어쩔 수 없이 ~하게 만들지 않는다.

7. 자기의 유익(이익)을 구하지 않는다. 사욕을 품지 않는다.

not self-seeking ; 자기 본위이지 않은, 이기적이지 않은

Love (God’s love in us) does not insist(demand) on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking ; does not insist on its own way ; 자신 자신의 권리나 방법을 주장(요구)하지 않는다.

isn't selfish ; 이기적이지 않다.

does not think about iteslf ; 자기 자신에 대해서 생각하지 않는다.

not self-serving ; 자기 잇속만 차리지 않는다.

isn't always "me first." ; "내가 먼저"인 상태가 항상 아니다.

8. 성내지 않는다. 성을 내지 않는다.

not easily angered ; 쉽게 성을 내지 않는다.

is not provoked ; 화내지, 짜증내지, 도발받지 않는다.

it is not touchy or fretful or resentful

  ; 과민하지, 조바심내지, 조마조마해하지, 분해하지, 억울해하지,

    분개하지 않는다.

or quick tempered ; 화를 잘 내지, 걸핏하면 화를 내지 않는다.

not irritable or resentful ; 짜증을 잘 내지 않는다.

does not get upset with others doesn't fly off the handle

  ; 다른 사람을 속상하게 만들지 않는다.

    버럭 화를 내지 않는다.

화를 쉽게 내지 않는다는건 화를 낼 수도 있다는 건가요??

화를 전혀 결코 내지 않는 것이 사랑인가요??

아니면 상황에 맞게 화를 내는 것이 사랑인가요??

9. 악한 것을 생각하지 않는다. 앙심(원한)을 품지 않는다.

keeps no record(track) of wrongs ; 잘못된 어떤 기록도 갖고있지 않다.

it doesn't keep a record of wrongs that others do ;  이웃이 잘못 행한 기록을 마음에 두지 않는다.

taketh not account of evil ; 악의 탓으로 돌리지 않는다.

it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong] ; 악이 잘못한 것이라고 탓을 돌리지 않는다 [학대받는 것에 관심을 갖지 않는다]

not rejoice at wrongdoing

  ; 범법,부정,비행 행위를 크게,대단히 기뻐하지 않는다.

not resentful ; 억울해하지 않는다.

thinks no evil ; 어떤 악도 생각하지 않는다.

10. 불의를 기뻐하지 않는다. 불의를 보고 기뻐하지 않는다.

does not delight in evil ; 악을 기뻐하지 않는다.

rejoiceth not in unrighteousness ; 불의를 기뻐하지 않는다.

It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness

  ; 부당함,불평등,부당성과 불의를 기뻐하지 않는다.

isn't happy when injustice is done

  ; 부당함,불평등,부당성이 행해졌을 때 행복하지 않다.

finds no joy in unrighteousness

  ; 불의 안에서 어떤 즐거움도 발견하지 않는다.

takes no pleasure in evil ; 악 안에서 어떤 즐거움도 갖지 않는다.

does not rejoice in iniquity ; 부당성 안에서 기뻐하지 않는다.

doesn't revel when others grovel

  ; 다른 사람이 굽신거릴 때 흥청거리며 놀지 않는다.

takes no account of evil ; 악의 탓으로 돌리지 않는다.

11. 진리와 함께 기뻐한다. 진리를 보고 기뻐한다.

but rejoices with(in) the truth

  ; 진리와 함께(안에서) 크게 대단히 기뻐한다.

but rejoices when right and truth prevail

  ; 정의와 진리가 승리하여 이겼을 때 크게 대단히 기뻐한다.

rejoices whenever the truth wins out

  ; 진리가 승리했을 때 언제나 대단히 크게 기뻐한다.

take pleasure in the flowering of truth

  ; 진리가 꽃폈을 때, 진리의 전성기 때 기쁨을 갖는다

12. 모든것을 참는다. 모든것을 덮어준다.

always protects ; 항상 보호하고 지켜준다.

beareth all things ; 모든 것을 참고 견디고 감당한다.

bears up under anything and everything that comes

  ; 어떤 것도, 닥쳐오는 모든것을 참고 견디고 감당한다.

always supportive ; 항상 지원하고 도와주고 힘을 준다.

never stop being patient ; 인내하기를 결코 멈추지 않는다.

patiently accepts all things l never gives up

  ; 내가 결코 포기하지 않는 모든것을 인내하며 받아들인다.

puts up with anything  ; 어떤것이든지 불평없이 참고 받아들인다.

13. 모든것을 믿는다.

always trusts ; 항상 신뢰하고 신임하고 믿는다.

believeth all things ; 모든 것을 믿는다.

is ever ready to believe the best of every person, ; 모든 사람의 최선을 믿기로 준비된 것이다.

trusting ; 신뢰하고 신임하고 믿는 것이다.

never stop believing ; 믿는 것을 결코 멈추지 않는다.

never loses faith ; 믿음을 결코 놓치지 않는다.

trusts God always ; 하나님을 항상 신뢰하고 신임하고 믿는다.

14. 모든것을 바란다.

always hopes ; 항상 바라고 희망한다.

hopeth all things ; 모든 것을 바라고 희망한다.

its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances,

  ; 모든 환경 아래에서도 희망이 시들지 않고 빛바래지 않고 쇠퇴하 지 않고 불변한다.

hopeful ; 희망에 찬, 기대하는, 희망과 기대를 드러내는,

             희망을 품은(성공을 바라는) 사람

never stop hoping ; 바라고 희망하는 것을 결코 멈추지 않는다.

always looks for the best : 항상 최선을 찾는다.

15. 모든것을 견딘다. 모든것을 견디어낸다.

always perseveres ; 항상 인내하며 굴하지 않고 계속한다.

endureth all things ; 모든 것을 견디고 참고 인내한다.

and it endures everything [without weakening]

  ; [약해지지 않으면서]

always endures ; 항상 견디고 참고 인내한다.

loyal ; 충실한, 충성스러운

never gives up ; 결코 포기하지 않는다.

never looks back but keeps going to the end

  ; 결코 뒤를 바라보지 않고 끝까지 계속 간다.

16. 사랑은 언제까지나 떨어지지 않는다. 사랑은 가실 줄을 모른다. 사랑은 없어지지 않는다.

Love never fails

  ; 결코 실패하지,떨어지지,불합격하지,낙제시키지 않는다.

Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end] ; 결코 점점 희미해지지 않는다. 더 이상 쓸모없게 되지 않는다. 한물가지 않는다. 구식의 것이 되지 않는다.

never ends / never comes to an end

  ; 결코 끝나지 않는다. 결코 죽지 않는다.

never dies : 결코 죽지 않는다.

17. 믿음,소망,사랑 중 제일은 사랑이다.

     믿음,소망,사랑 중 가장 위대한 것은 사랑이다.

     믿음,소망,사랑 중 으뜸은 사랑이다.

But the greatest of theses is love.

and the greatest of these is love.

But the best one of theses is love.

And the best of the three is love
